Home

And so with my arrival in Vancouver a trip comes to an end. What a wonderful time away it was. I can't believe how fast it went. I'm so glad I did it. I think everyone should spend an extended time away from their country. See how the other half live.

Last Night Out

What a day out. Spent the day out having fun with my friend Jill. First lunch at a pub with wine, then over to Harvey Nichols for a bottle of wine, then out to meet Elena for a bottle of Champagne and then out to Mexican. All in all very good.

London - Ely - Lakenheath

Family day. Went to see my family in Lakenheath. Had a wonderful journey out and enjoyed dinner and great fun with the crazy clan. Went and saw Ely Cathedral again for a bit of culture and history. It really is a beautiful place. Tomorrow is the last full day in London. Sad that good things must end but well... They do. Let's see what fun can happen on the last day :)

March 16,17,18,19

Well delay due to no Internet. Sorry.
I have the worst Internet ever here. The last few days have been all travel and friends. It's been good. I went shopping today in London. Looked around a few art galleries. Just all in all enjoyed the sun. The apartment is right next to Hyde park so it's great for a sunny day. Below is a picture of the house and Trafalgar Square.

Forth Bridge & Robert the Bruce Monument

As the title says below is the magnifique Forth Bridge which was build to never fall down and the massive monument to Robert the Bruce. He of course is the real big thing here as he saved the people from loads of bad stuff. I've also included a church that has his name on the top of it. Now the picture of the tree is interesting. Who is under it? Well it's William Wallace's mother. As he was kinda chopped up they paid special respect to her in order to honour him. Very cool.

Stirling Castle

This is the castle that was of great importance to anyone trying to take over Scotland. Mainly the English who would just not leave these poor people alone. It was the crossing point into the highlands and on either side marsh land. All the good stuff with William Wallace and the good stuff with Robert Bruce happened in this area. It's also believed to be the place referenced in the knights of the round table legend. Mary Queen of Scots was also crowned here. Unlike most castles they have done up the inside to show it all colourful and painted as would have been in the 1500 ish.

Rosslyn Chapel

Oh the joy of movies. So much was right and so much wrong in the Da Vinci Code but the one thing they got right was the beauty of this chapel. Well the bits that are really there.
Built by the St Clair family as a private church it holds the secrets of many religious and pagan symbols. Some are well known in meaning but lots are to be determined. Having so many religions and science represented in one place was quite beautiful.

So gotta work off that Sunday Roast and what better way then with a long walk. Looked in a couple shops but nothing really struck me. Tomorrow is a bus tour so get ready for that. A few random pics from past days. Better tomorrow.
