Madrid - Spain - Around the Palace & Cathedral

When you need an injection of city life there is no place better than Madrid Spain.  Madrid really does have it all and it all, is going on, like donkey kong.  I was worried that I wasn't going to like Madrid.  I like to be by the water and hadn't really looked into what the city was like.  I can honestly say that Madrid is one of my favourite cities Ive visited.  If you want busy, crazy, fun, culture, meat, fashion, shopping, international, friendly, food, walkable, clean (in the day time), safe ... This is the place to come.  Its got just the right amount of naughty and nice and everything spice.  The pictures below are around the Palace, Cathedral and grounds.  There will be more photos of Madrid in a second post.

Les Diablerets - Switzerland - Ski Village Living

Although we had no skis or equipment and to be honest we were dressed like city people, a trip to Les Diablerets seemed like a great idea.  We wanted to show our guest some of why Switzerland mountains are absolutely the most beautiful.  We were fortunate that the shops were open and we were able to enjoy some drinks and some cheese.  It was a Sunday so everything in Aigle was closed.
These aren't the best pictures as it was a very grey day but it was still beautiful.

Aigle - Switzerland - Chateau Aigle

After months of being in Aigle we finally made our way to the beautiful Chateau.  It has been turned into a wine museum and event space.  They have a beautiful video on entry that showcases the growing regions around Switzerland perfectly.  Inside there is an abundance of information and fun things to look at.  Of course it is all in french so a little translation here and there may be needed if your skills are not 100%.  Here are some pictures from around the Chateau.  You can see it is surrounded by vineyards still producing amazing wines.  In the 4th picture down notice the old style grape press.  Amazing to see how things have changed.
