Day 37

Today we had snow. Well the light stay in the sky kind but it was snow. It's very cold here today. Good news is its warming up tomorrow. Tonight went to our first language exchange. One person speaks French the other English. It was good. Learned a few things. Will go again next week.

Day 36

The rain has stopped and the sky was ... well greyish. Today was a nice day. Went out for dinner at a good Irish pub. Had a look around the shops for some good deals. None were found. The sky was very pretty tonight. Almost a royal blue. It's was beautiful. Now the best part of today was the homeless person pretending to be a dog barking at everyone. See picture below.

Day 35

Another day of rain. So I sat down and enjoyed the first season of Ab Fab. Thank goodness for cheap iTunes seasons.

Day 34

The rain has begun. It has been raining all day. To keep me entertained however there was 3 hours of Les Simpsons en française and 3 hours of Glee en Anglaise. That was good as well as some laundry, cooking and cleanup. Oh and not to forget the hours of French studies I have done today. I've started writing verb lists. It's exciting stuff I tell ya. So exciting I might collapse from excitement. The picture is of the wet out my window.

Day 33

Movie day. It was a grey day today. Went for a walk and to the grocery store then movies. Thank goodness for iTunes movie rentals. The film today was Water For Elephants. Beautiful movie with a beautiful elephant in it. Now I want one. Where can I get one?

Day 32

Back in sunny Nice. This next couple days are going to be a little boring. I'm here alone and the weather is supposed to be a little rainy. I'm not going to complain as we have only had 1 day of rain in over a month. In fact I think we have only had 2 days of rain since leaving Vancouver. Thats darn good seeing we were in London for three weeks. Today is movie and cleaning day. I have to start getting this place ready for my dear house guest Elena in a week. So excited. I thought I would just post a few more pictures from Italy over the next few days. Today is devoted to some of the odd and beautiful, maybe whimsical statues of Italy.

Genova

What a city. The new part was built in the 1500's so old does not really begin to describe. We had to museums almost completely to ourselves if not for security. We had pizza on pizza on pizza. Good pasta today as well. I know this a place you can visit 50 times and still find something new on each trip. Below is a few pictures of some of the buildings and such.

Cinque Terre

Today was spent voyaging around Cinque Terre. It's a group of 5 small villages on the coast of northern Italy. Normally you can spend all day walking from one to the other but due to mud slides the walk was closed. No problem though cause that's what trains are for. Each village is very beautiful it was hard not to take 500 pictures but I'm not Asian so I can control myself. Here are just some of the pictures. You really must see it live to really take in the beauty.

Pisa

Well it's a leaning alright. I'm gals that we made a stop at this little town. It's 75% university student so it's got ok shopping and well the tower thing. After the cleanup in 2000 it really now looks amazing. So white. The cathedral on the grounds is also amazing. The inside is outstanding. Almost makes ya wanna be catholic. Almost... lol

Rome

Well Rome has been very eventful. I think we squished as much in as we could. Fountains, buildings, monuments, tombs, amphitheaters, ruins, pizza, pasta, wine, beer, Irish pub, Gucci, Dior, churches, an island, statues, Michael Jackson, a conga line, and more Italians then needed. I have about 150 pictures just from these couple days. What's below is a sample.

Day 31

At the airport ready to get on my way to Roma. How very exciting. Tonight dinner and a look around. Tomorrow Vatican city. What fun :)

Day 30 or month 1 fin

I can't believe it's been a month. I have fallen in love with this city. It's such an easy place to live. No rush just relaxed. The water is blue, the mountains are grand, the city is accessible, the people are friendly, the shopping is good, I can see why this is the place to get away for so many. Tomorrow it is the last day of class for a while. Leaving on a jet plane to Italia. Roma tomato here we come. I have my list of must see things ready. I can't wait I need a vacation after school. Jour 28 & 29

Sorry no blog yesterday. I was busy catching up on Gossip Girl and True Blood. Yesterday and today just went to class. Learning about clothing and personal appearance these 2 days. Class has been good. Learning how to maybe put a sentence together without to many mistakes. It's just a matter of training the ear to hear the right things. Not so easy sometimes. 2 more classes then I'm off to Rome. Can't wait.

Jour 27

It's a windy one out there today. Even the birds are having a problem flying straight. Class was good today. Now I know all about food and how to talk about it. I also learnt the croissant is not the breakfast of the French. It's a lie. Adults eat cheese and bread with coffee. Kids have breads with butter jam and they dip it in chocolate spread. Yuck.

Jour 26

Not much to report today. My legs butt and calves hurt like crazy after yesterday's climb. Just cleaned walked and drank wine while talking to friends and family on Skype. Below are a couple pictures from the walk.
